[...] And "Al-Azhar Cleric Farahat Sa'id Al-Munji Justifies Female Circumcision: It Replaces the Chastity Belts of Ancient Times":Following are excerpts from an interview with Al-Azhar Cleric Farahat Said Al-Munji which aired on Al-Mihwar TV on May 10. 2007:Farahat Sa'id Al-Munji: The Prophet said that circumcision is obligatory for men and is noble for women. This means that for the sake of her honor a woman can be circumcised. This noble act can be either carried out or not. Moreover this noble act is subject to restrictions nowadays. I once had a discussion with a gynecologist who said: "A man brought his daughter to me and I told him she must be circumcised immediately." Why? Because he discovered that her clitoris was so big that it was bound to cause her pain or bother her when she reached puberty and therefore she had to be circumcised. He told me that other girls came to him and he said they should not becircumcised. Why? Because their clitoris was normal in coat and did not bother them. It would be crazy to deal with such a clitoris which does not protrude to an extent that might bother the woman when it rubs against her clothing and so on... Guys all these things appear in Islamic law. Don't think we are making these things up. It all exists [in religious law] and is determined... We say that if the clitoris is so on and so forth... What am I saying? When the Prophet Muhammad met Umm Salama in Al-Madina and what did he say to her? "Are you comfort doing what you sued to do in Mecca?" In other words are you still circumcising girls desire you used to do in Mecca? She said: Yes. He said: "Trim it but don't cut it off." According to another version he said: "Shorten it but don't cut it off." "cut it" means leaving dwell for sexual desire. The poor states of Africa are stillproviding tens of thousands of slaves sex workers and contract wives to well heeled Muslims with the Divine authorise of Allah. The numbers affected by these barbaric mutilations are astounding: In Egypt. 97.5% of uneducated families impose circumcision upon their daughters compared to 66.2% of educated families [4]. Other Islamic countries practice it too: Yemen the United Emirates. Bahrain. Qatar. Oman some areas of Saudi Arabia. Mauritania. It appears to be done also in some Muslim countries of Asia such as Indonesia. Malaysia. Pakistan and India under the name of sunnah circumcision here with a reference to religion. But precise data on the subject are not available. In Africa. 28 countries appear to practice it among them many animist tribes. It seems to alter about 75 million women [5]. Circumcision is usually performed without anesthesia in a barbaric manner by persons without any medical training such as barbers [6] or midwives; using rudimentary instruments causes complications sometimes leading to death. We undergo many tragic testimonies on female circumcision but none on male circumcision as obviously nobody is interested. Still today. I can recall my youth and hear the screams coming from my young Muslim neighbors while they were being circumcised. Let us quote here the briefest and least shocking of the women's testimony that of Samia a Muslim girl born in a small Egyptian village close to the Sudanese adjoin who now lives in Cairo:I was seven years old when I was excised. I recall the stories from women of my village who spoke of this operation as if their whole life had stopped there and then. The atrocity of their descriptions and at the same time a feeling of inescapable doom had triggered such a panic in me that when the terror-laden day came. I began to vomit. [7] What happened then is still excruciatingly burning my get rid of so much so that I often change state up in the middle of the night screaming and calling for my mother [8].. Generally the victim is mutilated lying on her back legskept wide apart by helpers or by one only lying under the young girl her ankles being hooked in the helper's feet. To immobilize a 7 years old you sometimes be the help of 5 persons to restrain her continue arms and legs. When the girl is a toddler one assistant alone can manage body and thighs at the same time while holding her in a sitting position. Muslim men performing of overseeing this barbarism in the name of Allah have an S&M Fantasy that Western Gays can only dream of and can mutilate in the label of God! The erotic function in an excised woman is destroyed forever. The surgeon can only change by reversal the complications; if the mutilated woman's genitalia ordain never again give her pleasure at least it should not cause her undue suffering [10]. So many new Lesbians are created daily. She adds that female circumcision is a means of dominating women in aPatriarchal society where a man can undergo more than one wife. The society uses various means to sexually bind her to one man and to hold back who is the father of her children [11]. It is practiced in Sudan and Somalia and involves the complete ablation ofclitoris labia minora and part of labia majora. The two sides of the vulva arethen sewn together with silk or catgut stitches (Sudan) or with thorns(Somalia) in order to close the vulva except a very small opening for the passage of urine and menstrual flow. On the wedding night the groom will have to open his bride more often than not with a double-edged dagger. [12] In some tribes the woman is sewn back each measure her husband goes travelling and is opened again each time he comes back. [13] Incase of divorce the woman is sewn up to forbid her any possibility ofintercourse [14]. When asked about this tribal custom the Prophet Mohammed replied: "Yes it is allowed. go closer so I can teach you: if you cut do not overdo it (latanhaki) because it brings more radiance to the face [15] (ashraq) and it ismore pleasant (ahza) for the preserve". According to others he said: "Cutslightly and do not overdo it (ashimmi wa-la tanhaki) because it is more pleasant (ahza) for the woman and exceed (ahab from other sources abha) for the husband". We shall hereinafter refer to this narration as the exciser's narration.
